Parks and Recreation

(Urban Outfitters Cardigan, H&M Crop Top, Forever 21 pants, $6 Hat)

This hat was such a steal and so perfect for a Sunday in the park.  My roommate and I planned to do a ton of school work but ended up people watching, laughing uncontrollably and reading magazines.  Overall, a good day!  Happy Sunday!

Corporate Chic

(Bannana Republic Suit, Gap Blouse, Michael Kors Trench, Mossimo Flats)

March has been a pretty slow blogging month as I've had to wear outfits like this for interview purposes.  While I'm into the trench and I like the pencil skirt the whole outfit together is really not my style.  Especially those gross beige colored tights.  Although I do think I look pretty cool in those $5 wayfarers.  The outfit is necessary for the interview process if I hope to one day make the big bucks so I can buy cute shoes and a Birkin bag.

Carpet Baggin'

(Gap Shirt, Joe's Jeans, Zara Belt, Tod's Loafers, F21 Necklace, Swatch Watch, Ipa-Nima Bag)

Today was somewhat warm so I debuted my ankles to the outside world.  I've been seeing a lot of celebrities wearing loafers so I pulled mine out of my closet.  You can also wear them with patterned socks for a different, slightly warmer look.  I got this bag a really long time ago and absolutely love it, its fits everything and has a Mary Poppins vibe going on.  I've been known to pull out skis, bunny rabbits and full bouquets of daisies.

The Quickest Fix

(Pookie and Sebastian Top, Kimichi and Blue Shorts, Steve Madden Socks, Steve Madden Wedges)

Nobody was at home to comment on my outfit so naturally I sent a pic to my gay best friend.  Note the floral shorts, clearly I'm really sick of winter.

Not really in a writing mood.  Enjoy the visuals.

Inspector Valentine

(Zara Trousers and Belt, H&M Blazer, Mossimo Flats, Piko 1988 Shirt, Michael Kors Trench)

Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun, Inspector Valentine, Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Da Doo.  Here I am, searching for the mystery of love.
Although I have recently become single, I decided not to dress in the usual single-girl-in-black outfit for Valentine's Day.  I found this to be an opportunity to channel spring and designated Valentine's Day as an honorary trouser day.
The heart around my head is my homage to Gaga.  Born this way.

Just the Coolest Kid

(F21 Leather Jacket, F21 Flannel, Pete Versus Toby T-Shirt, American Apparel Leather Leggings, Converses, Style & Co. Scarf)

I scored this shirt on a trip to Greece two years ago.  By score, I mean I kinda stole it from one of the kids on our booze cruise.  Needless to say, I think he was pissed but I'm pretty sure he took my iPod.  Fair Trade.  This outfit was inspired by the Converses.  My friend Brittni suggested that I pull something old from my closet each week and center a post/outfit around it.  I strongly believe that these shoes give me cankles but I took her advice anyway and I was pleased with the outfit.  Perfect for a Friday full of frolic.  I've been into black and white lately because in New York is a black hole of snow, ice and windchill but the shirt added some necessary color and was a good talking point throughout the day.

Can't Touch This

(American Apparel Dress, Forever 21 Harem Pants, H&M sweater, Steve Madden bag, Steve Madden Combat Boots)

I consider this my ode to MC Hammer.  To be honest, these pants were a slight impulse buy, but after wearing them once, I have no doubt that they will become an all season staple in my wardrobe.  My friend and I approached these pants at the exact same time.  I exclaimed "These are AMAZING!" while she uttered, "Oh my god, these are hideous."  As we can see, MC Hammer is still not truly understood for his fashion contributions.  To give my friend credit, she had a change of heart when she saw how great these pants ballooned around my thighs.

Black on Black on Black

(On Me: French Connection Dress, American Apparel Leather Leggings, Steve Madden Boots)
(On Wonderboy: Brooks Brothers Sweater, Rare Men Pants, H&M Combat Boots)

Having a fashion block?  Instead of stressing over what to wear, look into your closet and grab every black piece of clothing you can find.  Black is forever slimming and mixing textures takes a monochromatic look to the next level.

Trouser Time

(Zara Trousers, American Apparel Lace Bodysuit, H&M Lace Crop Top, Steve Madden Pumps, Kate Spade Clutch, Gap Jacket)

I have decided to take a cue from the Jersey Shore.  The fashionista's version of T-Shirt Time is now Trouser Time.  I love these Zara trousers.  They can be dressed up or down and they're super comfortable.  The lace on lace could have been too much but a tight body suit under a lose crop top worked really well.  I really loved this outfit, I think I would wear it every day if I could.

Covert Candids

(Pookie and Sebastian Shirt, American Eagle Vest, Forever 21 Jeans, Steve Madden Wedges, Gap Jacket, Vintage Bag)

This lobby was so fetch, we had to take pictures here.  Apparently, they want to keep it a secret because the doorman scolded us after pictures one and two.  We made a stealth move and turned the corner to take pictures three and four.  Fashion 007.

Jonesing for a Joutfit

(American Apparel Striped Dress, American Eagle Jacket, American Eagle Jean Vest, Banana Republic Denim Shirt, Forever 21 Satchel, Gap Jeans, Steve Madden Oxfords)

The invention of the Jegging gave us so many things.  Primarily, the illusion of dress-up with the reality of comfort.  But it also gave us something else, the creation of so many new words.  The Joutift (Jean Outfit) I've featured above, Jorts (jean shorts), we've even gone as far as a Jarty. I must give credit where credit is due.  I did not make up the Jarty, some of my friends from college did.  But as you can infer, a Jarty is a party in which everyone must wear all denim.  A Jarty is a great place for fashion innovation.  I've seen Jeels (Jean Heels), Jathing Suits (Jean Bathing Suits), Jeadbands (Jean Headbands), and of course, the traditional Canadian Tuxedo.  I hope that you all decide to incoprorate some more joutfits into your life, and I'd love to hear about your jean fashion innovations.  I will leave you with a warning, joutfits can be misunderstood by those who are wary of denim.  Don't let them intimidate you.  Stand tall in your jeels, unbutton your jirt (jean shirt) to show some sexy cleavage, throw your jean jacket over your shoulder and strut on by!

Disclaimer:  A Jathing Suit is solely for sun-bathing.  Please do not attempt any swimming for risk of color-bleeding and discomfort.
